America The Beautiful
Katharine Lee Bates wrote the original version in 1893. She wrote the 2nd version in 1904. Her final version was written in 1913.
Here is a note from Katharine Lee Bates:
"One day some of the other teachers and I decided to go on a trip to 14,000-foot Pikes Peak. We hired a prairie wagon. Near the top we had to leave the wagon and go the rest of the way on mules. I was very tired. But when I saw the view, I felt great joy. All the wonder of America seemed displayed there, with the sea-like expanse."

작시자 다이크목사는 영문학 교수, 설교가, 외교관, 저술가로서의 다양한 삶을 살았던 인물이다 기뻐하며 경배하세의 작시는 다이크 목사가 윌리엄즈 대학의 설교 초청을 받아 그곳에 머무는 중에 지은 것이다 영광의 주님, 사랑의 주님이신 창조주께 감사드리는 영감 어린 메시지이다 베토벤의 교향곡 9번 제4악장에 맞추어 부르도록 되어있다.
물론 America the Beautiful 아름다운 어메리카 곡을 듣다보니 생각이 나서 기뻐하며 경배하세 가사를 적어보았습니다. 아륻다운 미국도 창조주 하나님께서 만드셨답니다.
